How would you like to get more business back home while you’re having a great time at your next business event or conference?
Well, there are a few really simple (and fun!) things you can do to stay in front of your clients, friends and referral partners to ensure they’re thinking about you and ready to refer you when the opportunity arises.
I often get this question from our mortgage and real estate professional clients:
“How can I get more exposure from my social marketing?”
or
“How can I see a return from my social marketing?”
Well, Tim Braheem (that legendary guy who started LoanToolBox…) just put out a stellar video today on that very topic!
It’s so spot on… So on point… That I just have to share it with you!

3 Simple Social Marketing Tips to Maximize Your Conference or Event
1. Share photos. Not of the event and speakers necessarily. But of you. Having a good time! Group photos. Photos of cool stuff in the resort. Photos of you at dinner with your buddies.
That’s what the people who know, like and trust you want to see. And the more you share, the more they’ll like and comment…which leads to more exposure for you and cements your relationships even deeper.
And remember, deep relationships lead to deep pockets!
2. Connect with other mortgage pros throughout the country. After all, we’re there to learn, network and have fun, right? So don’t be shy! Introduce yourself and start up a quick conversation. Then find a way to stay connected.
Maybe send a LinkedIn connection request. Maybe exchange likes on your Facebook Business Pages. Then when they pop up in your newsfeed, you can easily make a comment to stay connected.
You never know when a referral opportunity might present itself for a relocation. The person with the biggest network wins the game!
3. Blog about something impactful. Write a short blog post using the notes from a presentation that you think rocks! It’s easy, just take notes like you did in college and then add them to your blog with some personal comments about each one.
If you find it valuable and think it will help you grow your business, then your Realtor partners and other professional contacts will likely think so too. Then send a quick email with a link to the blog post when you get back.
You could even have some fun with this and add some Vegas pics to the end of the post that adds to the personality of it for those that know you.
